MEDIATION

Mediation stands as mandatory prerequisite for resolving both commercial and employment disputes in Turkey. Turkish law regulates both ad-hoc and institutional mediation. There are many mediation centers established by independent mediators, as well as institutional mediation centers such as İTOTAM and İSTAC. Our team represents clients during the mediation processes, with a primary focus on resolving complex commercial disputes. 

Apart from the national mediation, our office provides mediation services for international disputes. We excel in handling international mediation conducted under ICC, ICSID, CEDR, and ECT Rules. Our team members are well trained for investor-state disputes and commercial disputes between private parties.

Turkey recently became a signatory party to the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation (the Singapore Convention) in August 2019, along with 45 other states including the US and China. The Singapore Convention facilitates the enforcement of settlement agreements executed in the context of cross-border commercial disputes and encourages parties to mediate disputes of commercial nature.

Our office provides services for mediating disputes, facilitating resolutions, drafting settlement agreements, and conducting processes for the enforcement of settlement agreements.
